Bindu Bindu has been an enthusiastic student of Yoga, Zen, and the liberative arts since 1994. With teacher certification from the White Lotus Foundation in 1996, he began his lifelong study of teaching yoga. His primary influence in yogic embodiment is Ranjani Mari Elaine Cobo M.D., a long time student of Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S. Iyengar, and others in the Krishnamacharya lineage .Bindu has practiced with an emphasis on partner-support relationship, and individualized specification – addressing the distinct personal development of each practitioner. Ordained as a monk in the Rinzai Zen tradition in 2000, Bindu completed his initial 1000 days monastic training in 2004. In 2001 he met Teja Bell, his true-heart teacher of martial arts. His practice of Chi Gung and other ‘energy arts’ powerfully complement and inform the meditation and yoga practices. Bindu lives and practices in Los Angeles.

Kristine Cheng
Yoga will change your life, it certainly changed mine. I left the corporate world few years ago and found my path to yoga (or it found me). I am extremely blessed to be able to share this great gift with my students and everyone I touch in life. I received my formal training at The White Lotus Foundation and studied with Ganga White and Tracy Rich. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and also a Certified Personal Trainer from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Throughout our practice, we will harmonize and merge our physical, mental and spiritual bodies all into one rhythmic dance. We will use our bodies as a gateway into the Present, focused on body and breath to quiet our minds, and hear the wisdom of our own intuition. All you need is an open mind, and you will find all the wonderful possibilities in life.

Ellen Mathews
After years of long distance running
and dance classes and resultant injuries,
Ellen discovered yoga in 1996. Since
taking that first class, she knew yoga
was for her. She was especially
drawn its non-competitive and nurturing
atmosphere. She received her
formal training at Yoga Works in Santa
Monica under the tutelage of Maty Ezraty
and Lisa Walford. She has
also had the privilege to study with
John Friend, Erich Schiffmann and David
Swenson. Ellen continues to study various styles
of hatha yoga and study with other yoga
luminaries in an effort to broaden her
personal practice and her classes. Ellen’s
classes emphasize her love of alignment and precision
and are a blend of Iyengar, Ashtanga and Anusara
influences.
When not teaching yoga, Ellen is probably
learning something new and profound from
her greatest teacher of all, her daughter
Sofia. Sofia is a natural at down
dog even at 18 months old. She
lives in Sierra Madre with her daughter,
her loving husband Martin and their black
cat.
Ellen wishes to thank all the wonderful
yoga teachers that she has experienced
on her yogic journey. She feels
honored to teach and aims to impart her
love for yoga to all who come to her
classes.

Allison Richard
Allison was introduced to yoga in 1997 and was excited she had finally found a form of exercise that didn’t require shoes! As she deepened her study with Yoga, it became so much more than just a form of exercise. In 2006, she gained her certification from the Center for Yoga studying with James Brown and Natasha Rizopoulos. In 2007, she completed an advanced program through YogaWorks where she had the opportunity to study teaching yoga for kids with Darlene D’Arezzo. During this time she learned to adapt the practice of yoga into magical, meaningful, and mindful experiences for children by using the tools of yoga to promote development of a healthy body, sound mind, and honorable character. She brings her lighthearted, nurturing spirit into each class and strives to create a playful, yet challenging practice while encouraging her students to listen and learn from their bodies.

Carolyn Sachs
"I came into yoga
looking for better posture...but what I
found was much deeper than a happy body.
Through my yogic journey I have found a
way of sweeping aside all the debris that
had been getting in the way of the discovery
of my true nature. I have been able to
see that it is possible to love more, feel
more and to see myself in everything. The
bonus for me was to find that I could actually
nurture and heal my self...Man, what I
gift.
The practice of yoga allows one to be present, in the
moment, where life is happening now! The practice can
assist you to learn more about yourself than you ever
thought possible. With this knowledge the possibilities,
as far as life goes, are unlimited.
I have been sharing my practice for a few years and
thoroughly enjoying each class immensely. I received
my teacher's certification from White Lotus Foundation
and worked with Saul David Raye in 2002 studying Thai
Yoga Therapy. I continue to study with Eric Schiffman,
Saul David Raye, Max Strom, Mathew Cohen, et al,
in Venice, California.
If you were to ask me, "What kind of yoga do you
teach?" then my reply would have to be, "I
share what I know and what I am...and do really cool
asanas that make you feel great!".
Carolyn teaches Beginning and All Level classes. |

Robin Scilley
"Like many people,
I came to yoga looking for a change in
my exercise regime. After decades active
in sports including gymnastics, running,
and gym classes, I realized the activities
that I once enjoyed were becoming more
pain than pleasure, and my motivation to
stay physically fit was faltering. What
I didn't expect was that yoga would change
my entire life. My love of yoga and how
it improved every aspect of my life - body/mind/soul
- compelled me to pass this wonderful experience
on to others. I am a certified Hatha Yoga
instructor with Naader Shagigi, and received
Advanced Teacher Training in Desikachar
yoga methods with Larry Payne of the Samata
Int'l Yoga & Health Institute. I am
currently enrolled in the Yoga Rx Therapy
certification program at Samata. Forever
a student, I am always adding to my classes
any training I find beneficial. My goal
is to allow students the opportunity to
discover themselves anew through yoga:
how to become more attune to their body's
every nuances; how to increase their strength,
flexibility, balance and posture; and how
to use yoga breathing techniques to bring
a deep calm and joy to our stress-filled
fast-paced lives. What you learn in the
studio spills over into every aspect of
your life...I hope to see you there."
